Summertime gives me an opportunity to take a break. After working hard during the school year, I need to get away even if is for a short time and distance. Any type of break relieves stress; and we often need stress relief. Traveling to Austin TX gave me the perfect chance to relax. Austin has a wonderful breeze that offers some comfort on brutally scorching summer days in the lone star state.
I enjoy taking in historical sites, and getting a feel for the city by people watching. You can tell a lot about a city by how the people dress. Austin is a yuppie city that is laid back. The women dress causally hip and the men rarely wear suits and ties, at least in the summer. I like the city, although I didn’t see many middle aged folks. But if you are young at heart, it doesn’t matter much. What is one of your great summer getaway spots?

This sounds awesome! I’ve been to Austin twice…once for a Student Council conference and another time to visit for a couple of hours. I definitely want to go back and actually explore!
I love visiting the Riverwalk on San Antonio! They’ve got a lot of great sites to see…and some really great food!
