TRAVLIN SISTAH
This sistah hit the road this summer before school resumed and I have to report back to work. As a woman of substance, I am at a point in my life to make sure I travel at least twice per year. This trip took me to the Grand Canyon and Los Angeles. I had not been to either place before, so I used this opportunity to hang out with my family. The Grand Canyon, needless to say is amazing. It is a spectacular natural wonder on earth. In fact it makes you feel as if you are another planet; truly beautiful. The drive from Phoenix to Flagstaff was extremely hot. The drive from Flagstaff to the canyon was a visual spectacle. The mountains had many colors that I did not expect, from purples, pinks, and reds.
After enjoying the Grand Canyon, my family and I drove to Los Angeles, California. That drive was also spectacular. Driving through the mountains was magical, and driving the long stretch of the desert was something that I cherish. It was so special to see the wonders of mother nature in its vastness.
Los Angeles’ traffic was congested as promised and spread out as many people say. Hollywood was pretty much like Times Square, and I was not that much impressed. I really enjoyed the guided tour through old Hollywood, Hollywood hills, and Beverly Hills. The tour gave me the opportunity to learn about LA and appreciate its history.
