SAYING GOODBYE TO 2017
Most of us have grand ideas about what we want to do for the upcoming year. Were you able to accomplish most of the goals you set for yourself last New Year’s eve? Well 2017 is nearing to an end, and I’m hoping that we were able to accomplish something substantial, something we can be proud of. I can say that 2017 was a transforming year for me. I experienced trials and tribulations, good and bad. I had losses and had victories. I traveled to beautiful new locations and explored other cultures. I lost my mother and said good bye to my sister, but I also connected with family and friends taking the time to reflect on beautiful memories.
Mother nature was no joke, bringing multiple hurricanes this year. Hurricane Harvey hit Houston with a vengeance, however, I was able to dig deep and volunteer servicing the people of our community. We are ending a year with a new president who has been extremely controversial throughout the entire time he took office. There was a lot of civic work to be done to make our voices heard.
There will be a lot of work to accomplish for the upcoming year. We can all do something to make a difference, so if things weren’t completed this year, there is always 2018. Stay positive, set goals, and work hard toward a cohesive and strong healthy community.
